Extraordinary

I found this quote posted by a friend in facebook:

"Extra-ordinary things only happen to extra ordinary people, therefore it is a sign of extra-ordinary destination." -Repeecheap (NARNIA Voyage of Dawntreader)

This is my response (it was too long so i'm posting it here than in the comments section)

Sadly many people settle for less than what they are destined for. Some are easily satisfied with what life has to offer and has no vision and passion for what could be and should be. Some use their weaknesses as excuses that hinder them from reaching their full potential instead of greatly leveraging their strengths. Some just want to be accepted and go with the flow instead of dreaming and reaching greater heights even if it could mean (temporary) rejection. It would take an extra-ordinary heart to become an extra-ordinary person to reach the extra-ordinary destination. Our extra-ordinary God has set before us an extra-ordinary life and an out-of-this-world destination, to live an ordinary life and settle for less than what He is offering is an insult to Him. (John 10:10b)

The thing is, what is the/an extraordinary life? As a Christian, I believe that an extra-ordinary life is a life that reflects the purposes of God. When we look at the Bible, God is on a mission, a mission to scatter and defeat the armies of darkness and the corruption of sin and reestablish the supremacy of His kingdom and His Kingship in the universe He has created. It is a mission of rescue, redemption and salvation, and those who are saved take part in the mission. Imagine a prince fighting for his bride, a king taking back his kingdom, a fight to the end, of ordinary men and women receiving new identities and becoming a part of an adventure greater that their lives. This is the story of God and we are invited to be part of this story. And when someone steps out to partake in His story, to play his/her role, this is the extraordinary life.
